In the unfortunate event that your horse suffers an emergency, give us a call at 719-749-9500. We are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
CEVS provides one doctor and one technician on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you’re not sure if it’s an emergency, call anyway. Our staff will discuss your concerns and evaluate the need for your horse to be seen.
During normal business hours, we keep a doctor and technician on call with a light schedule to facilitate the fastest emergency response time possible. If you have an emergency during business hours, you will likely speak to one of our receptionists or managers and they will contact the emergency veterinarian.
During evenings and weekends, you will first speak with our answering service who will relay your information to the doctor on call. After you have left your information with the answering service, please do not use that phone until you receive a call from our veterinarian. If you have not received a return call after 20 minutes, please call the answering service again and confirm that the information is correct.
Sometimes multiple emergencies occur simultaneously, requiring the doctor on call to triage and treat the most urgent cases first. In such a situation, the doctor will give you guidance over the phone and get to you and your horse as quickly as possible.
